Research Method Topics - Stop Using Your Brain! As you progress in your research method, your entire industry will benefit from your knowledge. Make it a point to collect as much data as possible, however narrow your focus is, before embarking on your research. A good research method is one that encourages and allows a lot of debate and discussion. This may be difficult in an industry that tends to ignore ideas, but that's the beauty of research.
First, start with an observation or a new idea that may be out there, but no one has thought of it. If it isn't in your industry, find a new topic that you can do research on. Start a discussion in your company or group, or in a forum such as Quora or a message board. Begin by discussing your new topic, asking questions and then providing possible solutions.
Once you've gathered some input, go back to your original new topic and take another look at it. Ask more questions. Think about the new idea, discuss it with others, and then propose a plan of action. The more input you get the more likely you are to successfully implement your research.
There's no point in rushing into trying something if no one has ever done it before. Research topics are rarely new ideas rarely come about suddenly. Seek out information, collect data, and gather opinions. It's all too easy to discover things that no one has thought of before.
As an example, it was discovered recently that certain office cleaning companies use a certain type of cleaning solution that is very bad for the office furniture. They're using it because it's cheap, lasts longer, and the chemicals are safe, and will kill everything.
This should be a general rule, but in the world of business, everybody's looking for away to save money. Ask your employees and company representatives if there is an alternative to their current solution, and find out if any of them are currently using one.
By the time you've gathered enough new ideas to fill a research book, have a new concept that hasn't been thought of before, and are still trying to find out what people think, you'll be well on your way to finding an answer to a problem. A successful research method will most likely also have a few successes as well. Without proper research, a company can really fall behind and become obsolete.
